Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized Field day on “HDPS Cotton” under special project on Cotton, ICAR-CICR titled “Targeting technologies to agro-ecological zones-large scale demonstration of best practices to enhance cotton Productivity” under NFSM 2024 at Narayanapuram village of Kesamudram Mandal, Mahabubabad district on 24-10-2024, in the field of Sri Bhukya, Narahari. Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension) explained about, ICAR-CICR Special Project on Cotton Objectives, district target and achievement in HDPS cotton, Dr. D. Kanjana, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CICR, Coimbatore explained about concept of HDPS Cotton, pre sowing activities, criteria of selecting cultivars for HDPS cotton, weed management, nutrient management, canopy management and quality harvest measures, Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal explained about Major advantages with HDPS Cotton, Pest and disease management, importance of machine sowing (Pneumatic planter), scope for HDPS Cotton in the Mahabubabad district. Sri B. Kranthi Kumar. SMS (Crop Production) explained difference between conventional method and HDPS, importance of cotton stalk shredding using cotton shredder, He also explained about suitable Yasangi crops along with varieties recommended of different crops. Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture), explained about IPM practices for Chilli crop in the current situation. Sri Bhukya Narahari farmer explained about his experiences on HDPS Cotton, related to yield and net returns, sowing time and fertilizer application and he gave the positive feedback on the HDPS Cotton related to single picking crop, low pest damage and scope for next crop. In this Programme 74 farmers from Narayanapuram, Rajulakothapalli, and Errabelligudem villagers and 5 RAWEP students are attended.
