On January 25th, 2025, the Zaheerabad Zone in the village of Ranzole was inspected by scientists from DAATTC (District Agricultural Advisory and Technology Transfer Center), along with the Agricultural Extension Officer of Ranzole. The inspection focused on agricultural crops such as potatoes, watermelons, and Bengal gram. As part of the event, a field day was organized for the ICM in potato crop under the guidance of DAATTC-Sangupet. Sri K. Rahul Vishwakarma, the Scientist and Coordinator at the DAATT Center, provided an explanation about the post harvesting techniques in potato crop. He discussed various aspects of the potato crop and shared valuable insights. In Bengal gram crop he observed gram pod borer (Helicoverpa armigera) and advised that the crop should be sprayed with Chlorantraniliprole @ 0.3 ml/litre. An appropriate treatments should take to manage the pest issue effectively. Additionally, Scientist Smt. K. Saritha addressed the farmers regarding horticultural crops, explaining the importance of proper care and management. She highlighted various aspects of horticultural farming that could benefit the farmers. The programme was aimed at educating the farmers and providing them with the knowledge needed to enhance their agricultural practices.
