Field day on PSB application in paddy at DAATTC, Tornala on 08.11.2024

DAATTC, Tornala has organized field day on PSB application in paddy at farmers field of Sri. K. Mallesham, Chinnakistapur (V), Kukunoorpally (M), Siddipet District on 08.11.2024. Dr. Ch. Pallavi, Scientist (CP) appraised the gathering and explained about Phosphate-solubilizing bacteria which plays a vital role in P solubilisation by producing organic acids and its mechanism. PSB can be used for all crops including paddy, millets, oilseeds, pulses and vegetables. It can be applied through seed treatment, seedling dipping and soil application. Farmer Sri. K. Mallesham shared his experiences about the application of PSB while transplanting paddy by mix 2 kg inoculant with 50-100 kg finely powdered FYM and broad casted, thereby reduction of Phosphorus fertilizer (DAP) usage in Rice by 25-50% based on soil testing and enriching the soil fertility. He has been applying PSB in his field since two years and results were good in terms of growth and yield. With PSB application input cost was reduced and soil fertility was enriched. Sri. Govinda Raju, MAO, Kukunoorpally, Krishna Murthy, AEO & 25 farmers have attended the programme.
