College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar - Field day on Redgram variety Hanuma

A field day was conducted on Hanuma-redgram variety by the College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University at adopted village, Gudur, Kothur (M) on 07th January 2022 to create an awareness among farming community. Dr B Rajeswari, Professor (Pathology) and the chairman, village adoption committee has inaugurated the programme by giving brief insights about the importance of the programme and explained the characters of the variety. Explained in detail about symptoms of fusarium wilt and the management and precautionary measures to be followed for wilt control. Dr. S. Upendhar, Associate Professor (Entomology) has explained the cause, damage, symptoms and management for maruca pod borer and Helicoverpa. Farmers of the village namely Sri Padma Rao, Lakshmaiah has shared their views regarding the varietal cultivation and answered the queries raised by the farmers. Sri B. Sattaiah, Sarpanch, Gudur Grama panchayat, the team of village adoption committee and farmers from the adopted village were present during the programme.The programme was concluded with the formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr B Rajeswari, Chairman Village adoption committee.
