DAATTC, Tornala organised the field day on Sulphur application in sunflower on 19.02.2025 at Ramancha village, Chinnakodur Mandal, Siddipet district. Initially, host farmer Sri. G. Swamy has shared his experiences in cultivation of Sunflower and crop management practices followed by him in NDSH-1012 and check Nuziveedu Swathi, and he is expecting the yield around 8-10q/acre. Ch. Pallavi, Scientist (CP) has explained the production practices which are helpful to improve the yields right from sowing to harvesting. Application and importance of sulphur application in oil content and yield of sunflower and given suggestions to rotate the crop with sunflower instead of paddy-paddy cropping system. Agriculture Extension Officer, Ms. Sathvika has also suggested the other farmers to take the other crops like sunflower, sesame, pulses, maize, vegetables as part of crop diversification. A total of 26 farmers have participated in the programme.
