Joint Diagnostic Field visit was conducted by ARS and DAATTC Karimnagar constituting members Dr. A. Viajaya Bhasker, Scientist (Path.), Dr.D.Sravani, Scientist (Pl.Br.), Dr.B.Sowjanya, Scientist (CCS) and Dr.K.Madan Mohan Reddy, Scientist (TOT) along with the Department officials visited the Vilasagar & Marlapeta villages of Rajanna Siricilla District and Sriramulapalli village of Jagtial District on 29th, December, 2021. Visited Maize, Groundnut Blackgram and Paddy fields and Maize minikit (DHM 182) field. Maize crop is at vegetative to boot leaf stage and observed the incidence of fall army worm irrespective of the stage of crop, farmers gone for 2-3 sprays with different chemicals like Emamectin benzoate and Chlorantraniliprole. Advised the farmers to apply sand and lime (9:1) and poison bait in whorls instead of going for repeated chemical sprayings. Groundnut crop is at flowering stage and observed the incidence of Spodaptera and given suggestions to the farmers as per the university recommendation.
