Field visit was conducted by the Village adoption team of College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar to adopted village, Gudur, Kothur (M) on 30.10.2021. The scientists visited the farmer’s fields and observed the crops grown in the village. The paddy crop is in harvesting stage and few farmers have harvested paddy and were drying the produce. The farmers who received JGL 24423 (Bold Type) from College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar expressed satisfaction on the paddy variety distributed as the yield was good. After harvesting paddy, some of the farmers have sown tomato, carrot, English cucumber and some were ready to go for vegetable production. Carrot and English cucumber crops are in germination stage. It is recommended to spray Boron @1gm/Lt of water when the cucumber crop reaches two leaf stage. In tomato crop, it is suggested that the plants should be given support by staking to get quality fruits and higher yields. It is also recommended to grow onion crop during the rabi season and emphasized on importance of nursery raising in the cultivation of onion crop.
