Field visit at Gudur, an adopted village of College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, on 19-03-2022

Village adoption team of College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, PJTSAU had visited the Guduru village, during the visit, the team has observed the vegetable crops like Bhendi, Onion and Cucurbit crops such as Cucumis melo (long melon) and Practiitrull’s fistulosus (Tinda) . Bhendi crop was 45 days old and it is in the flowering stage. It is suggested to apply N and K fertilizers as a top dressing as per the recommendation. Sucking pest like aphids and white flies also observed and advised to spray neem oil @ 5ml/lit of water till the completion of fruiting stage at an interval of 4-5 days. Onion crop is about 45-50 days old and in the bulb formation was observed and it is advised to practice earthing up operation to cover the bulbs, ensure sufficient moisture should be provided during the bulb formation stage. Cucurbit crops such as Cucumis melo (long melon) and Practiitrull’s fistulosus (Tinda) are in flowering and fruiting stage. It is suggested that the crop should not suffered with moisture stress for proper development of fruits. Team comprises of Dr.M.Venkateswara Reddy, Dr.K.Shailaja and Dr.Y.S. Parameswari participated in the above field visit in Guduru village.
