Field Visit to Maize Minikit - KNMH-4191 of Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar in various mandals of Karimnagar and Rajanna Sircilla Districts on 22nd February, 2023

The Maize Minikit- KNMH-4191 from knee height to cob development stages was monitored in various mandals of Karimnagar and Rajanna Sircilla Districts on 22nd February, 2023. The maize minikits KNMH-4191 from Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar and DHM-182 from Maize Research Centre, Hyderabad with the check DHM-121 were visited and found to be in knee height to tasselling stages in Nagulamallial village of Kothapally Mandal of Karimnagar district. In Vilasagar village, of Boinpally Mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district, the crop was found to be very good at cob development stage, weed free and without any pest and disease incidence. Later, visited the maize minikits, KNMH-4191 from Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar and DHM-182 and DHM-206 from Maize Research Centre, Hyderabad with the check DHM-121 at Korem village of Boinpally Mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district were monitored and found to be in vegetative stage. Also the paddy minikits, RNR 31479 from Rice Research Centre, Rajendranagar and KPS – 6251 from Agricultural Research Station, Kampasagar at Korem village of Boinpally Mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district have been monitored and found to be in good condition. Later field diagnostic visit to paddy and maize fields were taken up and observed the incidence of blast in paddy and fall army worm in maize. To control blast in paddy spraying of Tricyclozole @ 0.6 g/lt was suggested and for effective control of fall army worm, whorl application of sand and lime in 9:1 ratio was suggested. The GPS coordinates of all the locations were also recorded. The scientists from Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar, Dr.G.Usharani, Scientist (Pl.Br.) and Dr.D.Sravani, Scientist (Pl.Br.) and Dr.M.Rajendra Prasad, Scientist (Crop Protection) from DAATTC, Karimnagar, concerned farmers of the villages, RAWEP students of the villages have participated in the programme.
