Regional Agricultural Research Station, AICRP on Pigeonpea, Warangal a field day has been conducted on full package technology (FPT), GA3 application, Integrated pest management (IPM), Intercropping with Soybean and Weed control (WC) (pre and post emergence) as part of front line demonstration technical programme during 2022-23 at Vangapahad village of Hasanparthy mandal of Hanamkonda District on 05th December, 2022. Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, Regional Agricultural Research Station, Warangal, chaired the programme and addressed the farmers about importance of cultivation of pigeonpea crop and promising redgram high yielding varieties and sensitized about integrated pest management of Maruca vitrata and Helicoverpa armigera in pigeonpea, he urged the farmers to increase the area of pulses in 2023. Later Dr. N. Sandhya kishore, Scientist (Plant breeding), briefed about newly released redgram varieties from RARS, Warangal, PJTSAU i.e., medium duration Warabgal kandi-2 (WRG-255) and its characters and also explained about importance for installation of bird perches and pheromone traps. Later Dr. M. Madhu, Scientist (Agronomy) & Officer-incharge, FLD explained about Pulses cultivation is less cost of cultivation when compared to cotton and other crops and getting better yields and also for the enhancement of soil health. And also explain about importance of mechanization in pigeonpea. Later one of the FLD famer, Kandula Veera Reddy, has shared his experience with the fellow farmers on the Field day about the Front Line Demonstration taken up in his field i.e. Redgram variety (WRG-255) and IPM Practices in Redgram. He followed recommended package of practices and installed pheromone traps to monitor the pest incidence. The programme was followed by field visit, during interaction all the queries were clarified and farmers expressed satisfaction over the crop performance and their willingness to take up the technologies in a big way. In this programme, Dr. G. Padmaja, Scientist (Pathology), and about 50 farmers from Vangapahad, Elkurthi Haveli, and Dharmaram villages of Geesukonda mandal of Warangal district were participated in the meeting.
