Golden Jubilee Celebration of 1972 Batch B. Sc (Agri.) on 27-02-2022

1972 batch alumni members of College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, have organized get together to rejoice their Golden Jubilee Celebration, at College Auditorium, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, on 27.02.2022. Total 59 alumni members of 1972 B. Sc (Ag.) batch have participated in the programme, consisting of Agri- Entrepreneurs, retired Scientists / Bankers / Agri / Horti departments etc. Prof. P. Chandrashekar Rao, former Dean of Agriculture and former Dean of PG Studies, Dr. V. Ravinder Babu, former Director of ICAR-IIRR, Dr. Sathyananarayana Rao, Dr. J. Ramana Murthy, former NARS scientist, Mr. K. R. Padmanabha Rao, former employee of RBI and other eminent alumni members of 1972 batch have participated in the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of their batch. Dr. P. Chandrashekar Rao invited Prof. V. Praveen Rao, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, PJTSAU and Dr. V. Ravinder Babu, former Director, ICAR-IIRR, on to the dais. Dignitaries on the dais along with alumni members of 1972 have lightened the lamp as a token of enlightenment. Ms. Meghana welcomed the gathering by singing a wonderful devotional song. Dr. P. Chandra Shekar Rao narrated the uniqueness of 1972 batch and said that semester system was started with 1972 batch and Basic Science system was ended with 1972 batch only. Further, he alsoshared that not even a single girl student was joined in 1972 batch of B. Sc (Ag.) at College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar. Total 149 students have joined in 1972 batch and 26 of them left this world. About 25 alumni members of 1972 batch have left for abroad and settled over there only. Then dgnataries the dais Prof. Praveen Rao and Dr. V. Ravinder Babu and other organizers have released a souvenir of 1972 batch. Dr. V. Ravinder Babu, former Director, ICAR-IIRR, welcomed Prof. V. Praveen Rao, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and Chief Guest of the programme and the alumni gathering of 1972 Batch. Dr. V. Ravinder Babu admired the relentless efforts of Prof. V. Praveen Rao as Vice Chancellor and narrated the successful saga of Prof. Praveen Rao. He specially thanked Hon’ble Vice Chancellor for writing foreword for souvenir of 1972 batch. He expressed his overwhelming satisfaction over the Golden Jubilee gathering and optimistic about their Diamond Jubilee and Platinum Jubilee celebrations of 1972 batch. Dr. Babu also voluntarily expressed that their batch mates are ready to serve for the holistic development of the college in which ever capacity they can contribute, either through financial contribution or intellectual support. Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, thanked Prof. V. Praveen Rao, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor for his persistent, determined and relentless support towards alumni network strengthening. Dr. Reddy also thanked 1972 batch alumni members for choosing college premises as a venue for their get together. He also briefed the gathering about the history of the college and activities of AACAR. In this connection, Dr. C. Narendra Reddy mentioned about the magnanimous contribution done by Sri. Joginapally Chandra Shekar Rao of 1967 batch, who donated INR 15 lakhs for taking up developmental activities at College. Later, Prof. V. Praveen Rao, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, PJTSAU and Chief Guest of the programme addressed the gathering and thanked 1972 batch members for inviting him as a chief guest. Prof. Rao briefed about his journey over the last decade at the helm of affairs and achievements tasted and challenges faced. Prof. Rao also explained about the transparent administration system that is being developed and entrepreneurial ecosystem nurtured in the University. He explained about how district level colleges and stations are developed on par with main university campus. Prof. Rao narrated the unique and innovative initiatives taken up at the university like establishment of AgHub, national level PG/PhD admission process, collaborations, international student exchange programmes, varietal release etc. He urged the present generation faculty and students to tune themselves and rise up to the occasion to cope with the new developments in the educational system that are going to emerge because of New Education Policy and also emphasized that there may be private agricultural universities in the coming future. He also urged the alumni members to come forward to contribute for the overall development of the university by giving back to the campus where they have studied and opined that alumni is one of the vital organs in the campus to keep vibrancy in the campus. Later, organizers of 1972 batch felicitated Prof. V. Praveen Rao, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean. A group photo was taken by the 1972 group. Gathered members of 1972 batch paid home to the departed souls of their batch mates. Later, some cultural programmes are organized by some of the members of 1972 batch. Organisers felicitated all the gathered members of 1972 batch by distributing a specially designed memento, souvenir and bag. Organisers also felicitated faculty coordinators viz., Dr. B. Suresh, Assoc. Prof. and OIAM, Dr. K. Pawan Chandra Reddy, Associate Professor (SSAC) and Warden and Dr. D. Srinivasa Reddy, Assistant Professor (ABM) & Alumni coordinator. Finally, programme came to end vote of thanks proposed by Dr. J. Ramana Moorthy. Afterwards, all the participants had their lunch in the Krishi Nilayam (Boys Hostel) and rejoiced their student day’s memories. Some of the participants visited college and campus premises.
