Training cum Distribution of Gypsum to the Groundnut Farmers under CFLD (Oilseeds) for the year 2020-21 by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli

KVK, Bellampalli, Mancherial district organized training cum gypsum distribution to the groundnut farmers under Cluster Front Line Demonstrations (CFLD) on oilseeds for an area of 30 ha at Pownur village of Jaipur mandal of Mancherial District on 16th December, 2020. Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Senior Scientist & Programme Coordinator, KVK, Bellampalli, Mancherial addressed the farmers on measures to be taken in yasangi groundnut crop, application of fertilizers, importance of application of gypsum, water management and weed management etc. and suggested the farmers with suitable recommendations in the major crops cultivating in the district and distributed 280 No. of Gypsum bags to the 70 No. of groundnut farmers (4 bags each) of Pownur, Gopalpur, Velala, Shivvaram and Rimmapur villages of Jaipur mandal of Mancherial District under CFLD oilseeds during the year 2020-21. Further Sri. Vinod Kumar, District Agriculture Officer, Mancherial addressed the farmers to apply the fertilizers based on the soil test and cultivate coriander as intercrop to avoid the major pests in the crop and suggested the farmers to take up intercultivation operations for better crop growth and yields. For this programme, Sri. Nagaraju Alugoju, SMS (Plant Protection), Dr. B. Sathish, SMS (Agro Meteorology), Sri. Mark Gladston, M.A.O., Jaipur, Sri. Komuraiah, AEO, Ms. Suvarna, Sri. Saraiah, Sarpanch (Pownur), Sri. Bakka Reddy, RBS village member and 70 No. of farmers were participated.
