Department of Processing and Food Engineering, College of Agricultural Engineering, Kandi, Sangareddy organized a two days hands-on-training cum demonstration on “Value Addition of Fruits and Vegetables” to the adopted village SC and other farmers of Kashipur village from 18.12.2020 to 19.12.2020 under Schedule Caste Sub Plan (SC-SP)-2019-20. As a part of the programme, live demonstration of equipments viz., Garlic Peeler, Zero Energy Cooling Chamber, Potato Peelers and Corn Roaster. On second day training, key note on importance of value addition to fruits and vegetables in current scenario was delivered by Dr. K. Charith Kumar, Asst. Prof. Dept. of PRFE, followed by hands-on-training to women farmers to impart value addition techniques on Jam preparation using local popular fruit Guava by Er. Jambamma, Asst. Prof. Dept. of PRFE and Tomato Sauce preparation by Dr. M. Padma, Asst. Prof. & HoD, Dept. of PRFE. Further, live demonstration technologies pamphlets in Telugu and English language were distributed to farmers for future course of communication and extension of collage technical support to the needy farmers of adopted village. The programme has been convened by Prof. Srinivas Kumar, K. Associate Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering, Kandi along with Village Adoption Members Team, Teaching and other Staff.
