Inauguration of RO water plant and organization of Raithu Sadassu at RARS, Palem on 21.12.2023

Today Dr. G. V. Subba Reddy, Vice President, Coromandal International Limited inaugurated RO water plant near Silver jubilee Auditorium at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Plaem along with Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy, Director of Research, PJTSAU, Dr. J. Sathyanarayana, Dean of Student Affairs, PJTSAU, Dr. M. Malla Reddy, Associate Director of research, RARS, Palem, Dr. B. Pushpavathi, Associate Dean, Dr. S. Vanisree, PS (Oilseeds), Dr. Ch. Bharat Bhushan, Coordinator, DAATTC, Dr.T. Prabhakar Reddy, P.C, KVK, Palem, Dr.D. Sheshi Bushan, PS (Millets) and all teaching, Non-Teaching and Ministerial staff of RARS, KVK, APT were participated in the inauguration programme. Later Raithu sadassu was organized by RARS, Palem in collaboration Coromandal International Limited. In this programme Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, PC, KVK explained regarding the residue management in rice and cotton crops to the farmers and also stressed about the benefits of residue incorporation into the soil for maintaining the soil health condition. Dr. Lingaiah, Head, ARS, Kampasagar detailed the rice varieties suitable for erstwhile Mahabubnagar, to saline conditions and management of yasangi rice nursery and main field. He also explained about the direct seeding in rice and sowing with drones and how it helped in gaining higher yields and overcome the labour problem. Dr. K. Sridhar, Agronomist, RARS, Palem explained about the weed management in rice, maize and groundnut at different stages after sowing and also told about the different herbicides used in these crops. Farmer-Scientist interaction was organized and farmers raised various queries regarding soil health management, land preparation, varieties of groundnut, typha control, groundnut disease control and availability of maize hybrids. Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy, Director of Research, PJTSAU and Dr. M. Malla Reddy, ADR, RARS, Palem were clarified the doubts raised by the farmers. Dr. Sudhakar Reddy, Head Division of Agronomy, Coromandal Limited explained the role Nano DAP in crop management and how it helps in higher crop yields. He also stressed that, the nano DAP should not used with ca, mg, fipronil and azoxystrobin while spraying because of its incompatibility. Dr. B. Pushpavathi, Associate Dean, Ag. College, Palem addressed the farmers regarding the utilization of services of RARS, KVK, Ag.College and APT staff in farming. She also stressed that, farmers always do farming in profitable manner by adding value addition to the farm produce and also explained about the use of mechanization in agriculture. Dr. J. Sathyanarayana, DSA, PJTSAU addressed the farmers and brifed on the farming situation changed in erstwhile Mahabubnagar during last 20 years. Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy, Director of Research, PJTSAU explained about the changes happened in the faming conditions during these years and also he stressed that, the farmers should also think that, whether the change is good or bad. He also emphasized on maintenance of soil health by using recommended dose of fertilizers and residue management as well. Dr. G. V. Subba Reddy, Vice President, Coromandal International Limited, explained how Coromandal International limited reached the each and every farmer in the state and how farmers are utilizing the products from Gromor centers in the states. He also suggested the farmers to utilize organic and inorganic fertilizers together to maintain the soil fertility. A total of 500 people including farmers, staff of RARS, KVK, APT, Palem. Exhibited stalls on value added products in raithu sadassu.
