Inauguration of NSS Special Camp of Agricultural College, Jagtial on 15-10-2019

National Service Scheme of Agricultural College,Jagtial is organized a 7 days annual special camp from 15.10.2019 to 21.10.2019 in surrounding villages of Jagtial district for the final year students . The camp was started on 15.10.2079 at Gullapeta Village and formally welcomed the dignitaries by Dr. T. Srikanth, NSS Programme Officer. The inaugural speech was given by Dr. K. B. Suneetha Devi described the aim and objectives of NSS and mentioned the expectations from volunteers in the special camp. The chief gust of the function is The Associate Director of Research, Dr.R. Uma Reddy of RARS, Jagtial. In his address all the students should work sincerely and take up the responsibility of developing our society. Dr. M. Vijayalaxmi, NSS Programme Officer delivered a special camp schedule of NSS activities to be conducted for 7 days. Dr. Balram , Professor and Head, GPBR, Dr. S. Naveen kumar, Coordinator, DAATTC, Nizamabad Dist. Dr. Madan Mohan Reddy, Scientist (Transfer of Technology), DAATTC, Karimnagar District, Dr. Yamuna, Assistant professor, Sarpanch Sri. J. Thirupathi and other villagers attended the inaugural function. Later Dr. A. Umarajashaker, NSS Programme Officer proposed vote of thanks at the end of programme. In the afternoon session, Swacchta Hi seva has been conducted in this village. Students were actively involved in cleaning the premices of Gullapeta village. After that, House to House survey was conducted across 156 houses covering 620 people. Majority of people were in the middle age, illiterates and belonged to lower middle socio-economic status. Most of the people were residing in semi pucca houses with inadequate lighting and ventilation. Majority of people were growing paddy crop in 2 to 3 acres. Common health problems detected during house to house visit were hypertension, diabetes, anemia, malnutrition and asthma.
