Inter polytechnic sports, games, cultural and literary meet 2023-24” at RARS, Polasa, Jagtial from 17.10.2023 to 19.10.2023

  • Regional Agricultural Research Station, Polasa, Jagtial organized “Inter Polytechnic sports, games, cultural and literary meet 2023-24” from 17.10.2023 to 19.10.2023 to the students of twelve Polytechnic colleges such as Jagtial, Kampasagar, Palem, Malthumeda, Jogipet, Tornala, Rudrur, Madhira, Sangareddy, Jammikunta, Basanthpur and Narayanpet.
  • The inaugural programme was started with formal welcome address by Dr. G. Sreenivas, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Jagtial on 17.10.23. He also encouraged the students to compete in a healthy and inclusive environment.
  • Dr. M. Venkata Ramana, Registrar, PJTSAU, Chief guest of inaugural function briefed about the importance of sports as it teaches the value of team work and dedication and how to handle the victory and defeat with grace.
  • Dr. J. Satyanarayana, Dean of Student Affairs, PJTSAU & guest of honour urged the students to develop entrepreneurial skills during their two years Polytechnic course.
  • Dr. G. Padmaja, Director Polytechnics, PJTSAU & guest of honour told that sports contribute to physical health and fitness, promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. She also said that participating in cultural events helps in social skill development and help to explore innate talents and creativity.
  • Dr. J. Suresh, Professor & University Observer briefed about the three days events of “Inter polytechnic sports, games, cultural and literary meet, 2023-24”.
  • Dr. Bharathi Narayan Bhat, Associate Dean, Ag. College, Jagtial proposed vote of thanks.
  • As part of sports meet, students participated in seven games like volleyball, table tennis, tennikoit, chess, carroms, shuttle badminton and throw ball (introduced first time).
  • Also participated in five sports like running, short put, discuss throw, broad jump and javelin throw and in cultural and literary events like essay writing, elocution, solo dance (folk), solo song, group dance, rangoli and quiz.
  • Dr. Seema, Dean of Agriculture & Member, Board of Management, PJTSAU & Chief guest of valedictory function on 19.10.23, appreciated the students for active participation in sports, cultural and literary events and she also said that sports help in promoting leadership, time management and holistic student development.
  • After successful completion of three days events, prizes were distributed and overall championship for boys in games & athletics was won by Palem, overall championship for girls in games & athletics was won by APT, Tornala and overall championship for girls and boys in cultural and literary event was one by APT, Madhira. All the colleges got prize in any one of the events and APT, Jagtial students got first prize in carroms, tennikoit, running (200 m).
  • In this programme, teaching, non-teaching staff of RARS, APT and Ag. College, Jagtial, OSIAs and PDs of colleges and 230 students were participated.
