KVK, Malyal – International Women’s Day

KVK, Malyal has organized “International Women’s Day” under Tribal Sub Plan, 2020-21 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal on 08-03-2021 under the Chairmanship of Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator. She explained the theme of 2021 – International Women’s Day and reiterated that every woman should strive for equal rights, empowerment and nurture their entrepreneurial skills. Dr. K. Kaladhar Babu, Sr. Scientist & Head, HRS, Malyal spoke about the importance of education, which plays an important role in women’s success. Later, the live webcast of International Women’s Day celebrations held at ICAR, New Delhi was arranged for the women farmers and KVK staff. On the occasion, petty events like musical chairs, singing competition and brief talks on success stories were held and the winners were awarded with prizes. On this occasion, five successful women farmers, who are adopting innovative approaches/ took entrepreneurship as their livelihood with KVK interventions were felicitated. Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension), Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture), Smt. A. Ramulamma, SMS (Plant Protection), Sri B. Kranthi Kumar, SMS (Crop Production) and Smt. D. Usha Sri, SMS (Agromet) and 30 beneficiaries under Tribal Sub Plan Project from Bothavanigudem of Kothaguda Mandal, Balya thanda of Kuravi Mandal and 15 women farmers from other villages participated in the celebrations.
