International day celebrations in Adopted village by College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar on 8-03-2022

International Women’s Day is celebrated by the Village adoption team and NSS committee of College of Agriculture, PJTSAU on 08.03.2022 at Gudur village, Kothur mandal, Rangareddy district, the adopted village of College of Agriculture, PJTSAU, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. Every year 8th March is marked to commemorate the social, political and economic achievements of women. The programme is graced by Dr. D. Shivani, Professor & Chairman, NSS wing, explained the transitioning role of women from ages. Women play a key role in society and her contribution in every sector is noteworthy for her significant and crucial role in agricultural development and allied fields. She praised the Guduru village women who perform numerous labour intensive jobs such as weeding, hoeing, grass cutting, picking, cotton stick collection, keeping of livestock and its other associated activities and also taking care of the family health and nutrition aspects. The woman farmers have shared their experiences on this great occasion. VAP and NSS teams have felicitated Smt. Athelli Anasuya, for her active contribution as a farmer to agriculture sector and Smt. Gandi Kavitha, ASHA worker for her active participation in conducting various social welfare and awareness programmes in the Gugur adopted village. The village sarpanch Byagari Sattaiah, Ward members, woman farmers and asha workers of Gudur village, Village adoption team, NSS Programme officers, and have actively participated in International Women's Day celebrations.
