International Day of Yoga was celebrated on 21st June, 2024 at Agricultural College, Adilabad on 21.06.2024

International Day of Yoga was celebrated on 21st June, 2024 at Agricultural College, Adilabad on 21.06.2024 from 7.00 AM to 7.45 AM with the active participation of students, teaching and non-teaching staff. The event started with the brief about the programme, importance of International Yoga day and benefits of yoga in daily life by Dr. M. Suresh, Officer Incharge Student Affairs. It was followed a brief adddress by Dr. Sreedhar Chauhan, Associate Dean that started with the theme of 2024 year International Yoga Day (“Yoga for self and Society”). The talk highlighted that Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition which personifies the unity of mind and body, thought and action, restraint and fulfilment, harmony between man and nature as well as a holistic approach to health and well-being. It also focussed that Yoga is not just an exercise but it is to discover the sense of oneness within ourself, the world and the nature around us. It followed a brief talk by Smt. N.Nagamani, Physical Director and Yoga Trainer.The talk covered aspects on yoga, need of yogic practices for health and wellness, apart from its benefits for physical and mental fitness, management of many lifestyle diseases and overcoming depression and health issues. It was followed by a practical session that started with the warm up followed by Suryanamaskaras, Pranayama and simple meditation techniques involving the students teaching and non- teaching staff. The programme was attended by Dr. Sreedhar Chauhan, Associate dean, Dr. B. Rajeswari, Dr. K. Bhanu Rekha, Dr. M. Suresh, Physical Director Smt. N. Nagamani and non-teaching staff, Sri. M. Narender (Superintendent), Lab Assistants; Sri Prashanth Chauhan, Sri Raju and other non-teaching employees and 35 students of Agricultural College. The programme ended with the vote of thanks presented by Dr. M. Suresh, Officer Incharge Student Affairs.
