IRR, Rajendranagar Organization of 3 days’ workshop on “NARES Breeding Program Modernization to Enhance Genetic Gain in Crops” - CGIAR-IRRI-PJTSAU Collaboration from 6 to 8th December, 2022

The hands- on experience workshop is being organized by PJTSAU in collaboration with CGIAR-IRRI, Philippines. A total of 91 faculty members from Genetics and Plant Breeding, Seed technology and 3rd year PhD students participated. The resource persons from IRRI, Philippines, IGKV, Raipur and RARS, Maruteru participated. During the inaugural session of the workshop, Dr. R. Jagadeeshwar, Director of Research, PJTSAU, Dr. Sanjay K. Katiyar, Breeding Program Modernization Lead, CGIAR – IRRI, Dr. Seema, Dean of Agriculture, PJTSAU, Dr. P Jagan Mohan Rao, Director (Seeds), and other university officers of PJTSAU, Dr. Ch. Durga Rani, Director, IBT and University Head (Genetics & Plant Breeding), PJTSAU and Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy, Principal Scientist (Rice) & Head, Institute of Rice Research, ARI, Rajendranagar participated. The workshop aims at implementing the modules of speed breeding and smart breeding tools along with adopting recent advanced technologies in product development.
