Agricultural College, Sircilla - Sri Kaloji Narayana Rao Birth Anniversary

Late Sri. Kaloji Narayana Rao birth Anniversary is celebrated at Agricultural College, Sicilla on 09 September, 2021. Mr. T. Arunbabu, OISA started the programme by briefing the services of Sri. Kaloji Narayana Rao for securing the civil rights. The Associate Dean Dr. T. Umamaheswari madam said that Sri. Kaloji Narayana Rao was Indian poet, freedom fighter and political activist of Telangana. During his student days and later, he was participated in Arya Samaj Movement, especially in the domain of civil rights. He was also involved in Andhra Maha Sabha activities and library movements. He was the part of the freedom movement of Hyderabad State and underwent imprisonment under the Nizam. His commitments towards the human rights made him a popular personality in the state and his lyrics published in various languages. He was awarded an honorary doctorate by Kakatiya University. In September 2014, the Government of Telangana in his honour, named the Medical University Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences after him. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1992. The Government honored Kaloji’s birthday as Telanagana Language Day. In this event, Associate Dean, teaching and non-teaching staff are participated and paid floral tributes to the great poet
