The Chief Guest of the programme, Dr.K.Rajesh Reddy, MLA, Nagarkurnool inaugurated the Exhibition stalls and visited the models exhibited by the KVK staff, students and private companies. Later, He addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of the KVK, Palem for improving cotton productivity, reducing cultivation costs, and promoting sustainable farming practices. He encouraged the farmers to expand this technology further in the upcoming season. Dr.C.Sudhakar, ADR, RARS, Palem highlighted the importance of the HDPS cotton project to boost cotton production in the district. The project focuses on increasing productivity, reducing input costs, and improving sustainability and resilience in cotton farming under diverse conditions. Dr.T.Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem explained about the concept of HDPS Cotton, sowing time, machine sowing through pneumatic planter, importance of timely application of growth regulator. Sri.K.Chandra Shekhar, DAO, Nagarkurnool highlighted that the HDPS Technology has shown satisfactory results when compared to the normal planting despite excess rainfall in the district. This technology is most suitable for the light soils in our location. Dr.Bharat Bhushan Rao, Coordinator encouraged all the farmers not to confine to mono cropping, rather focus on crop diversification. Sri.S.Jagan, DHSO, Nagarkurnool highlighted importance of crop diversification in the district and suggested the suitable high value horticultural crops alternate to traditional crops. Dr.O.Shaila,SMS (Plant production) explained about the integrated pest management practices in HDPS cotton. Dr.B.Rajsshekar, SMS (Extension) spoke about the cropped area of cotton in the district and prospects of HDPS cotton in the district. Mr.K.Ramakrishna, SMS (Crop Production) also explained about integrated crop management practices in rice. Dr.A.Shankar, SMS (Horticulture) explained about the summer vegetable cultivation. Dr.M.Eswar Reddy, Scientist (Plant Breeding) explained about different pulses varieties suitable for rabi and best management practices in pulses. Dr.V.Divya Rani, Scientist (Pathology) explained about measures for blast management. Dr.C.Sudhakar (ADR,RARS,Palem), Dr.M.Pushpavathi (Associate Dean, AGC, Palem), Dr.D.Shashi Bhushan (PS, Millets), Sri.K.Chandra Sekhar (DAO, Nagarkurnool), Sri.K.Lavanya Ramana Reddy (REC Member) and Dr.T.Prabhakar Reddy, (Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem) are the guests of the programme.
