Kisan Mela organised at KVK, Bellampalli on 25-02-2020

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial District has organized Kisan Mela exclusively to the tribal farmers from the different mandals of Mancherial and Kumram Bheem Asifabad Districts under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) on 25th of February, 2020 at Instructional farm of KVK, Bellampalli with a target to bring together the technology/developments in the lab to the farmers. Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, R.A.R.S., Polasa, Jagtial attended as a Chielf Guest. Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Programme Coordinator and Programme Organizer, KVK, Bellampalli has addressed the gathering and delivered the welcome remarks and objective of organizing the Kisan Mela. The Mela mainly emphasized on the need of increasing productivity and Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, R.A.R.S., Polasa, Jagtial gave information about quality seed production, good agricultural practices for yield enhancement, Soil health, use of organic manures, chemical fertilizersuse of chemical fertilizers, pest and disease management etc. and lectures were delivered on rice varieties released by the university during recent past by Dr. Sridhar Siddi, Scientist and Head, A.R.S., Kunaram, Millet Cultivation by Dr. Usha, Scientist, A.R.S., Karimnagar and Integrated Farming Systems by Dr. Sahana, Scientist, RS & RRS, Rudrur, Nizamabad. In the Kisan Mela number of private agencies and firms engaged in agricultural inputs, implements, machinery, Hybrid Seeds, Fertilizers and Pesticides etc. and exhibits on various technologies of KVK, Bellampalli, A.R.S., Kunaram, Fisheries, Veterinary, Horticulture & Sericulture stalls were installed from the Government sector. For this particular programme, 700 number of farmers and 50 number of Officials, 25 number of representatives of various agencies and other 30 number of Public Representatives have been participated.
