KVK, Bellampalli, Mancherial organized 93rd ICAR Foundation day with Tribal Farmers on 16-07-2021

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial District has celebrated ICAR 93rd Foundation day on 16th July, 2021 with the theme Atma Nirbar Krishi as apart of Bharat ki Azadi ka Mahotsav. On this eve, Training programmes on Jal Sakthi abhiyan: Importance of water in agriculture and allied sectors and observed Tree plantation drive. A total of 43 number of tribal farmers from different villages of Mancherial and Kumrumbheem Asifabad (Aspirational) Districts has been participated. In the training programme, Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Senior Scientist & Head (Programme Coordinator), has addressed the farmers about the contributions made by the Indian council of agriculture Research, New Delhi in changing the face of Indian agriculture and making the agriculture is viable and profitable. He explained the scenario of deforestation happening in the country and stressed upon the individual responsibility towards nature protection by tree plantations. He further added that water is the life saving resource and importance source of irrigation in agriculture. In this occasion, all the scientists and staff of the KVK participated in planting the mango saplings in the KVK instructional farm along with the tribal farmers. Under the TSP (Tribal Sub Plan) 400 quality mango plants were distributed to 43 tribal farmers of Kasipet, Pangidi Madhara, Narvaipet, Kasarla gattam and Dharmarao pet villages from both the districts. For this programme, Dr. Shivakrishna Kota, SMS (Agricultural Extension), Sri. A. Nagaraju, SMS (Plant Protection), Dr. I. Thirupathi, SMS (Crop Production), Sri. U. Srvanthi, SMS (Horticulture) and Dr. B. Sathish Kumar SMS (Agrometeorology) were attended.
