Crop Webinar on Balanced Use of Fertilizers in Vanakalam Crops in a collaboration with Coromandel International on 18-06-2021

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial District has organized a Crop Webinar on Balanced Use of Fertilizers in Vanakalam Crops in a collaboration with the Coromandel International on 18th June, 2021. A total of 45 number of farmers from different villages of Mancherial and Kumrum bheem Asifabad (Aspirational) Districts has participated and clarified the doubts with the experts of KVK, Bellampalli. Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Senior Scientist (Soil Science) & Programme Coordinator, has addressed the farmers about the necessity of soil testing before going to the cultivation of crops. He explained the benefits of soil test based fertilizer application and its desirable effects like, reduction of indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers, reduction of cost of cultivation and positive impact on soil microbial health. Further he quoted about the necessity of organic and bio fertilizers incorporation to make the soil fertile for long term and obtain the sustainable yields. Further, Sri. A. Nagaraju, SMS (Plant Protection) addressed the farmers about the pest and disease management in major vanakalam crops and the way to prevent the adverse conditions. Dr. B. Sathish Kumar SMS (Agrometeorology) addressed the farmers and express the importance to follow the weather based agromet advisory services and the way to utilize the different ITC tools related to weather information.
