KVK, Bellampalli, Mancherial District - Audio Conference with the farmers of KB Asifabad and Dahegaon Mandals of Kumram Bheem Asifabad (Aspirational) District on Importance of Soil Testing and Balanced Use of Chemical Fertilizers in Agriculture & Horticulture Crops on 12-05-2021

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial organized a Audio Conference in collaboration with Reliance Foundation on 12th May, 2021 with the farmers of Ankusapur, Chirrakunta, Chinthalamanepalli and Kosara villages of KB Asifabad district. Dr. Rajeshwar Naik, Programme Coordinator, KVK Bellampalli Mancherial, created awareness among the farmers on Importance of Soil Testing and Balanced Use of Chemical Fertilizers in Agriculture & Horticulture Crops. Also addressed the farmers that, soil testing is important to gain knowledge on soil condition which minimizes the expenditure on fertilizers, avoids the over fertilization and soil degradation, ultimately helps in soil fertility management. Further, Created awareness on process of sample collection and the sample must be a true representative of the area being sampled. Further, addressed the farmers on chemical fertilizers should be used based on the soil test results and also revealed that indiscriminate use of fertilizers could lead to changes in the soil pH and enhance the risk of crop failure. In this Audio Conference, Dr.Shivakrishna, SMS (Agril. Extension), A. Nagaraju, SMS (Plant Protection), Dr. B. Sathish, SMS (Agromet), Sri. Verabadram, Organizer (Reliance Foundation) and 35 No. of farmers were attended.
