Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial District has organised ‘KISAN DIWAS ON THE EVE OF KISAN MELA’ on 23rd December, 2021

Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial District has organised ‘KISAN DIWAS ON THE EVE OF KISAN MELA’ on 23rd December, 2021 at instructional farm of KVK, Bellampalli. Initially Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Senior Scientist & Head (Programme Coordinator) presided the meeting and explained different trainings and activities conducted by K.V.K, Bellampalli in adopted villages of Mancherial and K.B-Asifabad districts keeping in view of doubling the farmers income. He also addressed the meeting about different activities conducting by KVK to convert the farmers from paddy to alternate crops to increase the diversity to conserve the soil health. Chief guest Sri. Durgam Chinnaiah, Honourable M.L.A, Bellampalli constituency addressed the meeting and appreciated the efforts of the KVK staff towards the progressive work and efforts related to crop diversification in the district. He wishes to celebrate the Kisan Diwas in every village to encourage the new innovative technologies in agriculture at ground level. Dr. M. Uma Devi, ADR, RARS, Jagtial graced the occasion and addressed the farmers about importance of soil testing to maintain optimum crop yields and explained about the importance of water harvesting, soil test based nutrient management and cultivation of green manure crops. Dr. Ramanjaneyulu, Senior Scientist participated as resource person and created awareness about the crop diversification and its importance and Dr. Pragathi explained about integrated farming system. Further also created awareness on importance of swachhata as part of Swachhta Pakhwada. For this programme, Smt. Syamala Devi (R.D.O, Bellampalli), Sri. Satyanarayana (Z.P Vice Chairman), Sri. G. Srinivas, M.P.P., Bellampalli, Sri. Srinivas Rao, D.A.O (Asifabad), Sri. Vinod kumar, D.A.O (Mancherial), Dr. Revathi (Scientist), Dr. Krishna Chaitanya (Scientist), Dr. Shivakrishna Kota, SMS (Agricultural Extension), Sri. A. Nagaraju, SMS (Plant Protection), Dr. I. Thirupathi, SMS (Crop Production), Dr. U. Sravanthi, SMS (Horticulture) and Dr. B. Sathish Kumar, SMS (Agrometeorology), Local public representatives, Stall representatives from different fertilizer and pesticide companies and 480 farmers were attended.
