KVK, Kampasagar conducted Awareness Programme on Crop diversification on 21.11.2023 at Yerraguntapalli(Vi) Dindi (Mdl), Nellikal (Vi) Thirumalagiri(Mdl) Nalgonda District.

Details of the Activities:
Training program on Crop diversification. In this programme first all the scientists interacted with farmers later visited the Yerraguntapalli and Nellikal village farmers fields.
Dr.Rammurthy principal scientist and head interacted with farmers and observed leaf eating caterpillar symptoms and root grub symptoms in groundnut field and encouraged farmers towards crop diversification, explained about crop rotation and suggested crops suitable for crop diversification, Cowpea, Green gram, Black gram, Red gram and explained about water use efficiency.
Dr.S.Srinivasa Rao Programme coordinator explained about Crop diversification, Recommended the chemicals for root grub, and leaf eating caterpillar and explained how to use water efficiently, suggested drip irrigation system for efficient water use efficiency and recommended yellow and blue sticky traps for monitoring of pest.
Dr.Srinivasan Senior scientist explained about crops suitable for upland conditions, and suggested to the farmers for pulses cultivation.
Scientists advised farmers to follow crop rotation with pulses and   incorporate the crop residues in the soil after harvesting instead of burning.
