KVK, Kampasagar conducted Diagnostic Field visits in Rice and Groundnut on 10-01-2022

The Scientists of KVK, Kampasagar Dr. M. Shankariah, Programme coordinator & Head, KVK, Kampasagar, Dr. M. Shankar, SMS (Plant Protection) visited Babusaipeta (v), Tripuraram (M), Nalgonda (Dist.) to make field diagnostic visit on rice field and observed cold and salinity injury coupled with stem rot incidence especially in Kaveri Chintlu. The incidence was observed more in low lying areas of paddy field and Stem borer damage also observed. The Scientists of KVK recommended to maintain proper drainage facility, follow alternate wetting and drying, spray ZnSO4 @ 2 g per litre of water for cold injury. Application of Urea @ 20 kg per acre and Carbendazim and Mancozeb @ 2 g per kg urea for recovery of stem rot and Cartap hydrochloride @ 2 g per litre of water for management of stem borer. And also visited Vaikuntapuram (v), Nereducherla (M), Suryapet (Dist.) to groundnut fields and observed stem rot and root rot incidence. Recommended soil drenching with Mancozeb and Carbendazim @ 2.5 g per litre for management of above disease in groundnut. In this programme K. Venkat Reddy, Retd. ADR, STZ, Telangana along with 10 farmers participated.
