Activity Details
- The progarmme started with giving tributes to Late Shri. Choudhary Charan Singh, India's fifth Prime Minister, who helped in the implementation of numerous farmer-friendly land reform programmes in the country and his birth anniversary celebrated as National Farmers Day.
- Smt. S. Pallavi, SMS (Extension) welcomed the guests on to the Dias and explained the objective of RAWE Programme, briefed the activities done by the students, explained the importance of RAWE programme and Rythu Sadassu cum Agricultural Exhibition organized by RAWEP students to the farmers.
- Dr. M. Shankariah, Programme Coordinator & Head, KVK, Kampasagar addressed the gathering and briefed about the triumphs that were achieved by Shri. Choudhary Charan Singh. Especially, introduction of agricultural produce market bill, eradication of land dictatorship, establishment of Kisan trust and fighting against problems of marginal and small farmers in the country for making their life better. And also explained about the importance of Rural Agricultural Work Experience Programme (RAWE Programme) in imparting practical knowledge into the students. Appraised the students for organizing great Raithu Sadassu & Agricultural Exhibition and advised students to focus towards conventional, integrated, sustainable, food & nutrition secure, climate smart agriculture technologies and suggested to thin in a big way for farmer friendly innovations in their future endeavours.
- Dr. M. Govardhan, Principal Scientist (Agro.) & Head, ARS, Kampasagar explained the usefulness of practical study of different crop cultivation aspects at field level and congratulated the students for exhibiting the models suitable to local farmers.
- Dr. I. Swarna Latha Devi, Principal, APT, Kampasagar interacted with the students about the importance of exhibits and models useful to the farmers and also appreciated the efforts put forth by the RAWEP students.
- Students from different villages and their host farmers shared their experiences and feedback. Farmers appreciated the University for conducting RAWE Programme as it is helpful for the students in building their practical knowledge and building contacts between farmers and KVK, Scientists and other line department officials through different awareness programmes.
