Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kampasagar has organised training programme on best management practices in HDPS cotton at Erraguntapally (Vi), Dindi (Mdl), Nalgonda (Dt) on 31.01.2024. Dr. S. Srinivasa Rao, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Kampasagar explained HDPS cotton details in Nalgonda District and insisted farmers to cultivate cotton under HDPS technology. Also explained the scope of HDPS cotton in Devarakonda division where the soils are light soils. Dr. K. Chandra Shaker, SMS (Crop Production) explained about nutrient management, application of growth regulators to control the excess growth and incorporation of cotton stalks in the field after harvest of the crop to increase soil health and quality. In the programme farmers Veeraiah of Shantigdem village and Janardhan Yadav of Erraguntipally village shared their views in HDPS cotton cultivation. They explained the precaution to be taken in this method and they got 10-12 q of yield in HDPS method, whereas the got 5-6 q of yield through conventional method in cotton. Private seed company employees viz., Rasi, Crystal and Nuziveedu explained about their hybrids suitable to closer spacing methods.
