KrishiVigyan Kendra, Kampasagar organised A Skill Training Programme on "Vermicompost Preparation" under SCSP 2023-24 from 29.01.2024 to 31.01.2024 for 30 no.of SC farmers from Ragadapa and Venkatadripalem villages. The programme was attended by Dr. S. SrinivasaRao, Programme coordinator, KVK, Kampasagar Smt. A. Ramulamma, SMS(Plant Protection) Dr. K. Chandra shaker, SMS(Crop Production) A. SaiKiran SMS(Agromet).Dr. S. Srinivasarao, Programme coordinator inaugurated the programme, he interacted with the farmers and explained the importance of Vermicompost in Agriculture for sustainability. On first day (29.01.2024):Dr. K. Chandra shaker SMS(Crop Production) delivered a lecture on the Nutrition value of Vermicompost, expliained about Soil health benefits with the application ofvermicopost, favourable conditions for vermiculture. Smt. A. Ramulamma SMS(Plant Protection) explained about different methods of Vermicompost Preparation.do’s and don’ts in vermicomposting process. On the second day (30.01.2024) conducted an exposure visit to Vermicompost unit at Lingampalli village, Sri SomaPavan, Entrepreneur of Umashankar Organics Pvt.Ltd.,Lingampally explained about the process of Vermicomposting and cost benefits of Vermicompost unit and market linkages for commercial production and how they started Vermicompost production in commercial way. Third Day (31.01.2024) Smt A. Ramulamma SMS(Plant Protection) delivered a lecture on vermi wash preparation and Usage of Vermiwash and Vermicompost in Agricultural and Horticultural crops. Dr. K. Chandrashaker SMS (Crop Production) explained about different composting methods and types of worms. Later Dr. S. Srinivasarao Programme coordinator appraised the programme with concluding remarks.
