Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhadradri Kothagudem Diagnostic team has visited Godavari flood effected mandals of Bhadradri Kothagudem District on 18.07.2022. The diagnostic committee lead by Dr. V. L. Narayanamma (Programme Coordinator) include Dr. R. Srinivasa Rao, SMS (Crop Production), Dr. R. Vishwatej, SMS (Extension), Mr. B. Shiva, SMS (Horticulture) along with Sri. G. Lalchand, ADA (Tech), K. Manishankar, (Agri. Officer), Ch. Ravikumar (BTM, ATMA), Korsa Lakshmi (Sarpanch) has visited the submerged villages of Burgampahad, Iravendi, MorampudiBanjara, Singireddypalem, Jagannadhapuram and surveyed submerged fields of Cotton, Paddy & Chilly nurseries. It was diagnosed that majority of cotton fields were damaged due to continuous submergence and farmers were suggested to take up foliar spray 13:0:45 or 19:19:19 @ 10g/ lit of water (Potassium Nitrate) twice a week. In case of severely damaged fields suggested to go for the resowing before 25th July. As the paddy nurseries were damaged completely, the team has suggested to adopt the ‘Direct sowing method’ with short duration paddy varieties. The team has also suggested to practice raised bed method to grow chilly nurseries to escape further inundation.
