Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhadradri Kothagudem has conducted Awareness Programme on Parthenium Eradication at Chunchupally Thanda Village, Chunchupally Mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem on 22.08.2024 as part of Parthenium awareness week from 16th – 22nd August, 2024. In this programme Dr. V. Lakshmi Narayanamma, Programme Coordinator has explained about integrated weed management in Parthenium and suggested to maintain the cleanliness around fields and field bunds to reduce the pest and disease inoculum, as parthenium acts as alternate host for several diseases. In this programme Dr. S. Naveen Kumar, SMS (Extension), has created awareness on Parthenium weed plant and its ill effects on human and crops in general. Mr. B. Shiva, SMS (Horticulture), Smt. Rajeshwari, MAO, Chunchupally Mandal, Smt. Mamatha, AEO. A total of 124 members including students, school teachers, Gram Panchayat officials, progressive farmers were participated in the programme.
