Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhadradri Kothagudem has conducted three days training programme on Scientific Bee Keeping on 26th- 28th Nov, 2024 at KVK. Programme coordinator Dr. V. Lakshmi Narayanamma had inaugurated the programme and attended by Farmers, farmwomen and Unemployed Youth. Dr. S. Naveen Kumar, SMS (Extension) has welcomed the participants and conducted a short ice breaking session. Dr. V. Lakshmi Narayanamma has explained about the importance of Honey bee in Agriculture, Nature and wellbeing of Humans. Also explained the opportunities in Honey bee farming as an profitable enterprise for rural and interested youth. Mr. B. Shiva, SMS (Horticulture) conducted second day session and explained about 'Introduction to Honey Industry in India and world', 'Types of Honey bees’ and “Management practices of Model Apiculture Unit”. On day-3 Mr. B. Shiva, SMS (Horticulture) has taken sessions on “Motivation, Leadership and Communication skills” and Dr. V. Lakshmi Narayanamma has conducted sessions on “Disease and Pest Management in Apiculture”. On this day trainees have visited an Apiculture unit at Seetharampuram village, Mulakalapally Mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem District. Later post evaluation and valedictory sessions were conducted with trainees.
