KVK, BKDM - conducted two days training programme on Scientific Bee Keeping at Seminar hall, Krishi Vigyan Kendra on 19.01.2024 to 20.01.2024.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhadradri Kothagudem has conducted two days training programme on Scientific Bee Keeping at Seminar hall, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhadradri Kothagudem on 19.01.2024 to 20.01.2024. The training started with inaugural session on 19.01.2024 Programme Coordinator Dr. V. Lakshmi Narayanamma explained about need, objective and importance of the programme attended by district Farmers and farmwomen. Dr. S. Naveen Kumar, SMS (Extension) has welcomed the participants and conducted a short ice breaking session on various development activity in agriculture and allied Sectors along with Krishi Vigyan Kendra and it’s role in the agriculture development in Bhadradri Kothagudem. Dr. R. Srinivasa Rao, SMS (Crop Production) briefed on indiscriminate use of pesticides and fungicides and its effect on honeybee population. He emphasized the importance of organic/natural farming for promotion of bee colonies. Dr. V. Lakshmi Narayanamma has explained about the importance of Honey bees in Agriculture, Nature and wellbeing of Humans. She also explained the opportunities in Honeybee rearing as a profitable enterprise for rural and interested youth. Mr. B. Shiva, SMS (Horticulture) conducted second day session and explained about 'Introduction to Honey Industry in India and world', 'Types of Honey bees’ and “Management practices of Model Apiculture Unit”. On day-2 Mr. B. Shiva, SMS (Horticulture) has taken sessions on “Motivation, Leadership and Communication skills” and Dr. V. Lakshmi Narayanamma has conducted sessions on “Disease and Pest Management in Apiculture”. On this day trainees have visited an Apiculture unit at Parkalagandi village, Dammapeta Mandal lead by Mr. B. Shiva, SMS (Horticulture). Later post evaluation and valedictory sessions were conducted with trainees.
