Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized “96th ICAR foundation day on 16th July 2024 at KVK, Malyal. The staff watched the live webcast of ICAR foundation day celebrations conducted by ICAR, New Delhi. Later a meeting was convened on this occasion with tribal farmers. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator explained the important activities of the KVK aimed for the benefit of farming community. She apprised the concept of Direct seeded paddy cultivation, IPM technology for Chilli crop, entrepreneurship development through value addition and explained the need to think innovatively and diversify their agriculture to improve farm income. She also explained about preparation of vermicompost through vermibeds in small scale which can be utilized for their growing crops and suggested to use distributed assets in their daily agriculture and allied activities. Later, distributed Tarpaulins (25no.s), Vermi beds (8 no.s), Battery sprayers (13no.s) and Hand weeders (15no.s) to tribal farmer beneficiaries purchased under Tribal Sub Plan Project, 2022-23. Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension), Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture) and 61 tribal farmer beneficiaries from Chakru thanda village of Gudur Mandal participated in the programme.
