KVK, Malyal – Awareness programme on "High density planting system in Cotton” through virtual mode on 19-08-2022

Awareness programme on "High density planting system in Cotton” through virtual mode was organized on 19-08-2022 at KVK, Malyal. In this programme, Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal briefly explained about the relevance of high density planting in Cotton under present scenario of increased incidence of pink boll worm, escalating labour costs involved in multiple pickings, growing of Cotton in red chalka soils, identification of pests and diseases and their control measures through power point presentation. Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension) explained about the agronomic management practices to be adopted in HDPS. Later, Sri P. Jalender Naik, SMS (Plant Protection) briefly explained about the timely usage of herbicides and fertilizers in Cotton crop. Sri B. Chatru Naik, DAO, Mahabubabad, Sri. Shoban Babu, ADA, Maripeda, Sri Lakshminarayana, ADA, Mahabubabad and 54 no.of farmers who have taken up HDPS Cotton demonstration during the current Vanakalam season in Mahabubabad district participated in the programme.
