KVK, Malyal – Farmers Training Programme on “Better management practices of different crops in current situation” on 05-03-2021

A farmers’ training programme on “Better management practices of different crops in current situation” was conducted under SCSP project, 2020-2021 by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal at Kantayapalem Village of Thorrur Mandal, Mahabubabad district on 05-03-2021 under the chairmanship of Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal. Sri Chatru Naik, DAO, Mahabubabad was Chief Guest of the programme. Smt. A. Ramulamma, SMS (Plant Protection) explained about pest management practices in Rice, Cotton. Sri B. Kranthi Kumar, SMS (Crop Production) briefed about the importance of soil testing, fertilizer use efficiency practices, usage of PSB to reduce the application of ‘P’ fertilizer dosage in soil and alternate methods of planting in Rice. Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture) explained about best management practices in Chilli crop. Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension) apprised the gathering on different ICT tools in Agriculture, encouraged the farmers about subscription of Vyavasayam monthly magazine and PJTSAU YouTube channel. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal addressed the farmers and explained the importance of farmers to think as enterpreneurs and should strive to reduce the cost of cultivation from seed to seed steps of raising different crops to reap higher net returns. Sri Chatru Naik, DAO, Mahabubabad gave information on Departmental schemes and encouraged the farmers towards integrated farming system. The programme was followed by visit to Rice fields in the village. Apart from the KVK staff; MAO, Thorrur; AEOs (5) of Thorrur mandal were among the officials participated in the deliberations. 45 number of farmers participated in the programme.
