KVK, Malyal Conducted Exposure Visit to Indian Institute of Millet Research, Millet incubation centre, Rajendranagar, Rangareddy, District under ARYA, Project, on 23-02-2024

Exposure visit was conducted by KVK, Malyal to Indian Institute of Millet Research, Millet incubation centre, Rajendranagar, Rangareddy, District under ARYA, Project, 2023-24 on 23-02-2024. with 38 beneficiaries of women farmers who were trained under Skill training of value added food products from millets from 2 villages (Vissampalli of China Gudur, Malyal of Mahabubabad, Mandal). Sri Dr. Rafi, Scientist, IIMR, explained about Nutritional importance of Millets in our diet and entrepreneurship development through millets to the women farmers. Sri. Kumara swamy acted as resource person, in the morning session He explained importance of millets, different demo units maintained at IIMR- Rajendranagar and about the procedure of millet processing. In the afternoon session they were taken on field visit to different demo units maintained at IIMR Institute. Later, visited Nutrition Hub and Sr. Kiran Kumar gave lecture on Nutritional importance of millets and how to convert raw material of millets into processing. After that, visit was made to PJTSAU- Millet incubation centre, where in Smt. K. Srija explained about different millet products making procedure of Ragi laddu, Jowar murukulu, Ragi cakes, sajja murukulu, and avisa payasam to the women farmers. KVK, Malyal Scientist Sri. B. Kranthi Kumar, SMS (Crop Production) and Sri K. Sandeep, (Lab Assistant) KVK, Malyal accompanied the farmers during the exposure visit. The above mentioned scientists of IIMR and Millet incubation centre, interacted with the women participants.
