KVK, Malyal – Organized Field Day on “Integrated Crop Management in Ridge gourd on 29-03-2022

A Field Day on “Integrated Crop Management in Ridge gourd” under Tribal Sub Plan, 2021-22 was conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal at Bheemla thanda of Bojjannapeta Village, Narsimhulapeta Mandal, Mahabubabad district in Ridge gourd field of Sri Banoth Veeranna. The Host farmer spoke about his experiences towards cultivation of this crop. Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture) explained about the Integrated Crop Management in Ridge gourd. He stressed about the importance of micronutrients especially boron and growth hormones in different stages of the crop to enhance more number of female flowers. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator reiterated integrated crop and pest management in Cucurbits and suggested to form FPO from Bheemla thanda village for making them more visible as successful vegetable growers. Sri K. Suryaranaya, District Horticulture and Sericulture Officer, Mahabubabad explained about importance of FPOs in Transfer of Technologies and empowerment of farmers. Sri A. Vishnu, HO and 64 No.of farmers and farmwomen attended the programme. The programme was also followed by a visit to Ridge gourd crop with pandal system of the host farmer.
