KVK, Malyal celebrated “Kisan Diwas (Farmer’s Day)” and distributed stitching machines under Tribal Sub Plan on 23.12.2022

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized “Kisan Diwas 2022” under Tribal Sub Plan, 2022-23 at KVK instructional farm on 23-12-2022. Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture) & Co-PI of the project explained the importance about celebration of Farmer’s Day. Sri K. Bhasker, Scientist & Head, (GPBR), HRS Malyal explained about IPM practices in Chilli to control black thrips and measures to be taken for flowering and fruiting in Mango crop. On this occasion distributed 25 stitching machines to tribal women trainees who have undergone skill training on “Tailoring & Embroidery” under Tribal Sub Plan Project, during 2021-22. During the programme, Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator greated the farmers on the occasion of National Farmer’s Day and addressed the gathering and requested the participants to utilize the sewing machines and emphasized on self employment of women and also to start micro entrepreneurship. Sri B. Chatru Naik, DAO, Mahabubabad participated as Chief Guest for the programme and suggested to utilize this opportunity for becoming self reliant. The concept of natural farming, organic farming were explained to the farmers and it was reiterated that sustainable management and plant practices alone would help in containing the upsurging biotic stresses in different crops. KVK, Malyal staff Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension), Sri B. Kranthi Kumar, SMS (Crop Production.), Sri K Dinesh, Farm Manager, Sri M. Chittibabu, Agromet Observer and 47 no. of project beneficiaries from TSP adopted villages participated in the programme.
