Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized Online Farmers Training Programme on “Management of gall midge in Rice” 06-08-2021

Online Farmers Training Programme on “Management of gall midge in Rice” through digital audio conference was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal Mahabubabad district on 06-08-2021 in collaboration with Reliance foundation. Smt. A. Ramulamma SMS (Plant Protection) explained about the gall midge incidence, life cycle, favourable conditions, ETLs and Integrated Pest management practices for gall midge and given focus on growing of resistant varieties in gall midge endemic areas, avoiding of late transplanting, staggered plantings and granules application etc. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal, addressed the gathering and answer the queries raised by the farmers in current crops like paddy, cotton and chilli nursery. Calls received from the farmers on rice fertilizer management, weed management, pest management in direct seeding and granules application, etc. were answered. In this programme Smt CH. Varahalu, Project manager, Reliance foundation and 45 n.of farmers from Bayyaram, Garla mandals of Mahabubabad district were participated.
