Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized series of awareness programmes as a part of “Parthenium awareness week” from 16th – 22nd August, 2024 in different places of Mahabubabad district – Kambalapalli village (16-08-2024), KVK farm, Malyal (17-08-2024), Kalwala (18-08-2024), Ameenapuram (19-08-2024), Parvathagiri (20-08-2024), Jamandlapally (21-08-2024), Kalwala (22-08-2024). In these programmes, awareness on ill effects of congress grass both on agriculture, horticulture crops and on human and animal health were highlighted. Management strategies were also explained for Parthenium weed and explained about eradication of the wide spread weed in farm lands, public places, uncultivable lands and spoke about preparation and uses of Parthenium compost. Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension), Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture), Sri B. Kranthi Kumar SMS (Crop Production), 7 no. of other KVK staff, Dr. A. Santhosh, Assistant Professor (Agronomy), Dr. G. Archana, Assistant Professor (Economics) Agricultural college, Warangal, Dr. G. Madhu, Scientist (Agronomy) RARS, Warangal, Sri. G. Ramana, HM, ZPHS, Kalwala, Sri. G. Narendhar, Teacher, 60 students from ZPHS Kalwala school, 59 farmers and 26 RAWEP students participated.
