A training programme on “Pest and Disease Management in Chilli” was conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal at Narasimhulapeta Village and Mandal, Mahabubabad district on 05-02-2021. The Programme sponsored by ATMA, Department of Agriculture, Mahabubabad district, was chaired by the Village Sarpanch Smt. Rajitha Reddy. Smt. A. Ramulamma, SMS (Plant Protection) explained about the pest and disease management practices to be adopted in chilli, in detail, with special emphasis on current pest management options. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal addressed the gathering and requested the farmers to go for alternate methods of rice planting in coming seasons which would solve the labour shortage during peak requirement period. Later, she answered to the queries raised by farmers on NSKE preparation, use of bio products in chilli crop. etc. Smt. Rajitha Reddy Village Sarpanch thanked the organisers for conducting the meeting in Narasimhulapeta and requested the officers to conduct such trainings at monthly intervals during chilli crop season. 40 no. of farmers attended the programme. The programme was followed by a visit to Chilli field.
