KVK, Malyal organized Awareness Programme on “Poshan Abhiyan and Tree Plantation” on 17.09.2022

KVK, Malyal organized awareness programme on “Poshan Abhiyan and Tree Plantation” as a part of National Campaign on Poshan Abhiyan and Tree Plantation in collaboration with IFFCO at KVK, Malyal on 17-09-2022. Smt P. Narmada, District Welfare Officer i/c, acted as Chief Guest for the Programme. Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture) explained about nutritional gardening, Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension) explained the importance of nutria-cereals and their role on human health. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal explained about the importance of balanced nutrition and role of fruit trees for nutritional security. She reiterated that each rural household should take up kitchen gardening and also grow fruit trees so that household level nutritional security is achieve d. Smt. P. Narmada, DWO i/c, while addressing the gathering, pointed out that all the participants must ensure to follow the tips provided for kitchen gardening grown in their Anganwadi centres or at home and should regularly visit KVKs for technical inputs / suggestions. Later, vegetable seed packets sponsored by IFFCO under ICAR – KVK & IFFCO initiative and Karonda saplings were distributed to the participants. In the programme Smt. P. Ram Babu, SMS (Horti.); IFFCO staff – Sri S. Vishal, Field Manager, Sri Raghu, Sri P. Shankar; 31 Angnwadi Teachers, 27 Farmers and Farm Women participated in the programme.
