KVK, Malyal – Organized “Pre Kharif awareness programme” at Parvathagiri village of Mahabubabad Mandal on 26-06-2024

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized “Pre Kharif awareness programme” at Parvathagiri village of Mahabubabad Mandal on 26-06-2024. Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension) explained about the concepts and management practices of Direct Seeded Rice and HDPS Cotton. He also explained about availability of seed as well as characters of different Paddy, Redgram, Greengram and Blackgram varieties. Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture) suggested to take up green manure crops (Dhaincha, Sunhemp, Pilli Pesara & Greengram) preceding to Rice and Chilli crops. He also explained about Chilli nursery management, integrated pest and disease management to control wilt and leaf curl virus in Chilli and he requested farmers to increase usage of Bio fungicides like Trichoderma and Pseudomonas in growing crops to minimize wilt incidence and Phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) helps in making phosphorus fertilizer in available form to the plants from the soil. Later conducted field visit to Oil palm, Cucumber, Bhendi, Ridge gourd crops and observed the crops condition and given suitable recommendation to the farmers. Smt. M. Rajalaxmi, AEO, Jangiligonda cluster and 34 farmer and farm women participated in this programme.
