KVK, Malyal – Organized Rythu Sadassu on 24-12-2021

RAWEP students from KVK, Malyal organised a Rythusadassu and Agricultural exhibition at Gajjulagattu village, Gudur Mandal, Mahabubabad district on 24-12-2021. Smt. Suchitra, ZPTC, Gudur acted as the chief guest of the programme and inaugurated the exhibition stalls prepared by RAWEP students on “mulching, micro irrigation, vermicompost, IPM in chilli and Rice, crop residue management, vertebrate pest management, Integrated Farming Systems, etc”. She keenly listened to the explanation given on different exhibits and their importance by the students. Sri. M. Laxminarayana, DAO i/c, Mahabubabad presided over the programme. The students shared their RAWEP experiences and host farmers expressed their views on the programme, Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension), KVK, Malyal briefed about RAWEP programme to the gathering and gave details of the RAWEP students attached to KVK, Malyal this year. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator addressed the gathering and informed that RAWE programme is a unique programme wherein both students and farmers get a chance to update themselves in agriculture and allied sectors and villagers should make use of the programme effectively by involving the students. She briefed about pest and disease management in different crops, especially western thrips management in Chili, stressed upon IPM practices for effective control instead of chemicals only. Later, clarified doubts raised by farmers in different crops. Smt. Suchitra, ZPTC, Gudur congratulated the students for their effort on organizing Rythusadassu and agricultural exhibition at village. While addressing the gathering, she requested the farmers to select the crops on market demand and adopt the organic practices for human health and high market price. She also pointed out that farmer should focus on growing millets crops to meet the demand in cities. The public representatives – Smt. Vasantha, Sarpanch (Gajulagattu), Sri. D. Badhraiah, village Rythusamanvaya Samithi Coordinator and other public representatives also addressed the gathering. In this programme, KVK, Malyal scientists – Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, Dr. E. Rambabu, Smt. A. Ramulamma, Sri. B. Kranthi Kumar, Er. B. Hari Assistant Professor (Agri. Engineer) from Agricultural College, Aswaraopeta and Department of Agriculture officials Sri. G.Rakesh, MAO (Gudur) Sri Kiran Kumar AEO, Gudur participated in the meeting. 120 farmers visited the stalls and attended the Sadassu.
