KVK, Malyal organized 3 days Skill Training on “Poultry Farming” from 9th to 11th March, 2022 at KVK, Malyal under SC Sub Plan Project, 2021-22 to the SC Farmers of SCSP adopted villages. The training started with inaugural session on 09-03-2022. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme coordinator, KVK, Malyal explained about need and importance of the programme. Smt. A. Ramulamma, SMS (Plant Protection) and Co-Principal Investigator, KVK, Malyal explained about objective of the Skill training programme Dr. T. Rajender Asst. Veterinary surgeon, Gandampally, Mahabubabad participated as resource person and delivered lecture on “Poultry Layer Farming ” B. Yakub Reddy, Commercial Poultry Farmer, Ameenapuram, Kesamudram mandal participated as resource person and delivered lecture on “Importance of Poultry Farming in Integrated Farming System and economic importance of Poultry” On 2nd day (10-03-2022) organized exposure visit to Livestock Research Station, Mamnoor, Warangal district. Dr. M. Hanumanth Rao, Senior Scientist, (Poultry Science) acted as Resource Person on the topics. “Rearing of one day old chicks, Hatchery unit, different poultry breed and different poultry demonstration units” were shown to the farmers followed by a lecture on “Management of Back yard poultry” in rural areas. On 3rd day (11-03-2022), Dr. L. Vidyasagar Asst. Professor, CVSc, Mamnoor, Warangal District delivered lectures on “Nutritional Importance of Poultry Feed” and “Pest and Disease management in Poultry Farming”. The valedictory session was chaired by Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal and she addressed the gathering on importance of growing backyard poultry in the present days and the trainee participants should utilize the opportunity for entrepreneurship. Sri.G. Ravindra Naik, Regional manager, Srinidhi, Mahabubad explained about Rearing Backyard poultry - In Commercial way, Dr. S. Venkat, Additional District Rural Development Officer, DRDA, Mahabubabad participated as chief guest and explained about the opportunities for entrepreneurship development and distributed Certificates to the trainees. 25 SC farmers from SCSP adopted villages (Vissampally of Chinnaguduru mandal, Kantaipalem and Nanchari Madoor of Thorrur Mandal) participated in the programme.
