The training started with inaugural session on 05-02-2024 at KVK, Malyal. Sri. B. Kranthi Kumar, SMS (Crop production), KVK, Malyal explained about the need and importance of the programme and suggested the farmers to take up vermicompost preparation on small scale to meet their farm needs. Dr. B. Raju, Asst. Professor (Soil Science), Agriculture college, Warangal participated as resource person and explained about the “Importance of vermicompost, earth worms in agriculture”, and “Role of vermicompost in improving soil fertility status and process of vermicompost development”. On 2nd day (06-02-2024), Sri. B. Kranthi Kumar, SMS (C.P) conducted Exposure Visit to Teja Vermicompost Unit, Mutthagudem, Khammam district and showed live demonstration to the participants. Sri Rami Reddy, vermicompost entrepreneur acted as resource person and explained about Vermi Unit construction, conditions required for maintenance of earth worms and production expenditure, etc. 3rd day (07-02-2024) sessions were carried out at KVK, Malyal and Sri R. Srinivas, SMS (C.P) , participated as resource person and explained about the “ Vermicompost preparation methods”, at farmer levels and explained about the “precautionary measures to take in vermicompost preparation”. On 4th day (08-02-2024) Sri. B. Kranthi Kumar, SMS(C.P) explained about “ Application time of Vermicompost in the field and Nutritional ratio of vermicompost” after that, feedback was taken from the trainees during valedictory session. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal addressed the farmers and Sri. Lakshmi Narayan, DAO, Mahabubabad and Sri. K. Narendar, ADA, Mahabubaabd suggested to the farmers to make use of the programme and start new small scale production of vermicompost. Later, ‘participation certificates’ were distributed to the trainees.
